EPFO Rules Change: Big news for crores of EPFO Members. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has recently made important changes in its rules, which will affect crores of PF account holders across the country. These changes have been made to simplify the PF claim process, promote digital verification and activate UAN. The purpose of these new rules is to ensure ‘ease of living’ and ‘ease of doing business’.
You can activate UAN through Umang app
Now employees can create UAN using Aadhaar based Face Authentication Technology (FAT) with the help of ‘Umang’ mobile app. Employers can also generate UAN for new employees through Umang app. Members who already have UAN but have not activated it can also easily activate UAN with the help of this app.
No need to upload picture of cheque
EPFO has made the process for PF claim easier. Now it is not mandatory to upload the photo of the cancelled cheque or the photo of the bank passbook while claiming PF. Also, the employer’s approval is no longer required for bank account verification.
Now you will get the benefit of UAN and services through face verification
EPFO has launched new digital services based on face verification, under which subscribers can now obtain and activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) through face verification. Launching these services, Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that this will provide easy and fast services to the users through digital means.
