Earning from peppermint plant
The farmer told that not all the farmers here have a plant for crushing peppermint. Most of the farmers come to us to get peppermint crushed. Here the cost of crushing is 50 to 60 rupees per liter. The plant runs for only about one and a half months in the whole year. But, these days we don’t get free time even for a while. The plant runs day and night. The entire year’s income is earned in these one and a half months. After deducting the expenses, we easily earn 2-3 lakhs.
Know how oil is extracted from peppermint plant
The farmer told that there is a tank in the plant. In which peppermint is put. A lid is put on it. Below this tank, there is a tank to fill water in the ground. It has about 4 drums of water filled in it. The fire is lit from the peppermint waste at the bottom and the steam from the water carries the oil and water through a pipe to another tank.
