Solar Pumps: India is an agricultural country. India cannot be thought of without agriculture. Meanwhile, as time progresses, India’s agricultural system is undergoing one significant change after another. One of them is the solar pump system. This system has greatly benefited the farmers. Right now, installation of solar pumps for irrigation has been started in four districts of Rajasthan. These four districts are Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, and Anupgarh.

Solar pumps for these four districts

In these four districts, solar pumps will be installed for irrigation in desert areas by the Water Resources Department of the state government. This work will be done under the Indira Gandhi Canal Project. According to the scheme, subsidies will be given by the government to the farmers to install pumps.

In this scheme, about 5000 off-grid solar pump plants of 3, 5, and 7.5 HP will be installed for the farmers. The project will cost Rs 180 crore. In the project, 60 percent subsidy will be given to the farmers by the government, while the remaining 40 percent will have to be spent by the farmers on their behalf. However, if the farmer wants, he can take a loan from the bank at his expense. According to the scheme, a bank loan of up to 30 percent of the cost spent by the farmer can be taken.

Govt takes big initiative

The Rajasthan government has signed a contract with the company Rotomag Motors and Controls Pvt. Ltd. to install solar pumps. Soon the work of installing solar pumps on the agricultural land of eligible farmers will be started. The entire scheme is being run under the RWSRPD project under the Water Resources Department. A similar scheme is run by the Horticulture Department under the name of PM Kusum Yojana. But the big difference is that the cost of solar pumps installed under the RWSRPD project is less than the pump installed in the PM Kusum scheme. That is, farmers will be able to install solar pumps cheaply while taking advantage of the RWSRPD project.

How much will it cost farmers?

Under this scheme, farmers will have to pay Rs 80740, including GST, for a 3 HP surface DC pump. Similarly, farmers will have to pay Rs 80603 including GST for 3 HP surface AC pump, Rs 80740 including GST for 3 HP submersible DC pump, Rs 80603 including GST for 3 HP submersible AC pump, and Rs 112740 including GST for 5 HP surface DC pump. Apart from this, Rs 112548 includes GST for a 5 HP surface AC pump, Rs 112740 includes GST for a 5 HP submersible DC pump, and Rs 112548 includes GST for a 5 HP submersible AC pump.
