This year, both the central and state governments have introduced several schemes for women, which have provided significant financial support. These initiatives aim to empower women by promoting self-employment and strengthening their financial standing. Let us take a look at the Top 3 Game-Changing Government Schemes that were introduced for women this year.
1. Bima Sakhi Yojana
Prime Minister Modi recently launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana in Haryana. The objective of this scheme, offered by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), is to make women financially independent and self-reliant. The beneficiaries, called Bima Sakhi, encourage women in their communities to get insured and assist them in the process. This scheme is open to women aged 18 to 70 who have completed at least 10th grade. The scheme provides training for the first three years, during which women will also receive an honorarium. After completing the training, they can be appointed as LIC agents.
