There is a preparation for strict action against those who do not follow traffic rules in Bihar. The Transport Department has fixed the deadline for depositing the challan. If the challan amount is not deposited within 90 days, the vehicle will be blacklisted.

After this, the vehicle owner will not be able to get anything done for that vehicle like fitness, pollution, ownership transfer, etc. That is, the vehicle will become completely useless.

Traffic rule breakers in the eyes of the camera

A control and command center has been set up near Gandhi Maidan, where the system of issuing e-challan is monitored. From here, the traffic system can be fully monitored through cameras installed in various areas of the capital.

Through these cameras, an e-challan is issued for not wearing a helmet or seat belt, violating a traffic signal or spotlight, over speeding, triple riding, etc.

350 ANPR cameras will be installed soon

A target has been set to the install of 350 ANPR cameras across the Bihar state by the April next year. Especially under the Smart City area, The ANPR cameras has been also being installed in Bihar Sharif, Muzaffarpur, and the Bhagalpur district.

The Transport Department has asked the districts for a list of selected locations based on the need for ANPR cameras. There is a plan to install such cameras in the areas around Patna as well.

What is an ANPR camera

ANPR means Automatic Number Plate Recognition. These cameras scan the number plates of vehicles and then detect vehicles violating traffic rules. With this technology, it has become easier to catch those who violate traffic rules.

Go to the nearest transport office: You can also deposit the challan by visiting the nearest transport office.
