TRAI Rule Change: These days, most people are troubled due to fake calls and messages. TRAI has made extensive preparations to curb these. TRAI has given strict instructions to telecom operators to curb these.
Nowadays, the smartphone is a means of communication, and users use it for many tasks, including transferring money. In such a situation, even a little carelessness of the users becomes the cause of trouble. Hackers even empty users’ bank accounts through fake calls and messages.
TRAI has changed the telecom rules. The new rule will be implemented next month, i.e., November 1, 2024. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI, has directed all telecom operators to implement message traceability from November 1, mainly to stop fake and spam calls.
What is the new message traceability rule?
Now the question arises: what is message traceability? From November 1, monitoring all messages on your phone will be intensified. In simple language, a new system is being implemented nationwide to stop all types of fake calls and messages on your mobile. This will make it easier to identify counterfeit calls and messages. You must have noticed that counterfeit calls keep coming to your number daily, upsetting people. You can block such messages and counterfeit calls to eliminate them.
In August, TRAI had all telecom companies block all messages from folks, e-commerce, Finland, and social institutions, including telemarketing and promotion.
TRAI said that telemarketing messages should have a standard format so that promotional calls and messages can be identified and red-flagged so that users know that the messages and messages coming on their mobile are promotions.
COAI, a membership organization of Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea, has written a letter to TRAI in this matter and sought a relaxation of up to 2 months in implementing the mobile traceability rules.
However, after implementing the new rule, people may face some problems. This may cause some delay in receiving essential banking messages and OTP.
