UIDAI, the organization issuing Aadhaar, provides many services on its website, but the work of changing fingerprints, iris, and photos cannot be done online. For this, you have to go to your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. There you can get your new Aadhaar card with a photo by paying a nominal fee.
Process of updating photo online in Aadhaar
UIDAI, the organization issuing Aadhaar, provides some services on its website, but to update the photo, you have to go to the Aadhaar Enrollment Center. There you can get your new Aadhaar card with a photo by paying a nominal fee. Let’s know the whole process:
Find Aadhaar Enrollment Center: First of all, find your nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center. This information can be obtained by visiting the UIDAI website and clicking on the “Locate an Enrolment Center” option.
Download the Aadhaar update form: Visit the UIDAI website and download the “Enrolment and Update Form” in the “My Aadhaar” section.
Fill and print the form: Fill the downloaded form carefully and take a printout of it.
Visit the Aadhaar Enrolment Center: Visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center and submit the form to the officer present there.
Give the required information and take a new photo: The officer will ask you for your Aadhaar card and a valid identity card. After this, your new photo will be taken.
Pay the fee: You will have to pay a fee of ₹100 (including GST) to get the photo updated.
Get the URN number: After the process is completed, you will get a URN number. With the help of this number, you can track the status of the Aadhaar update.
How to check the Aadhaar update status
It usually takes 30 to 90 days for the photo to be updated on the Aadhaar card. In the meantime, you can check the update status by visiting the UIDAI website using your URN number.
Some important things
No document is required to change the photo on the Aadhaar card, only your old Aadhaar card is enough.
The photo update request cannot be submitted online. You have to download the form, fill it and submit it at the enrollment center.
