Ujjwala Yojana 2.0: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, launched with the aim of freedom from stove smoke and promoting women’s health, has provided relief to crores of families in the country. Seeing the success of this scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the second phase of Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 on 10 August 2021.

Migrant laborers have also been included in this phase, so that they can get the benefit of the scheme wherever they are living, without the need for a ration card or permanent address. The government has also expanded the budget of this scheme. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had told on 1 February 2021 that till 2020 itself, 7.4 crore free LPG gas connections have been given under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, in which free gas connection is given to economically weaker families. Not only this, women are advised to use gasoline gas throughout the year. Along with this, financial assistance of Rs 1600 is also given on taking the connection, so that they can also buy other items related to the gas connection. Government EMI facility is also available for automobile discounts.

Online Application Process

You can also apply online to avail the benefits of the scheme. For this, you have to follow some procedure.

  1. First of all, go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana www.pmuy.gov.in.
  2. Now on the home page, you have to select the download option.
  3. Now you will get the option to download four forms. Which includes Ujjwala Form Hindi, Ujjwala Form English, Ujjwala KYC Form Hindi, and the fourth Ujjwala KYC Form English.
  4. Out of these four options, click on the Ujjwala form according to your language and download it.
  5. If you want, you can also get this form from the LPG center.
  6. After getting the printout of the form, fill in all the information asked in it like your name, age, and address.
  7. A list of required documents will also be asked in the form. Attach them with the form.
  8. Now read the form once thoroughly and submit it to your nearest LPG center.
  9. After this, when the verification of your form and all the documents is completed, you will get a gas connection for free.
