Primary aim of the scheme

The primary aim of the Free Cylinder Scheme is to liberate impoverished families from conventional fuels such as wood, coal, and cow dung cakes, which contribute to indoor pollution and adversely impact the health of women and children. Under the program, women receive free gas cylinders, gas stoves, and the option to refill gas for the first time.

Who are eligible for the scheme

BPL Card: The applicant woman needs to possess a Below Poverty Line (BPL) card.

Age Requirement: The applicant must be at least 18 years old.

Linking of bank account and Aadhaar card: The woman’s Aadhaar card must be connected to her bank account.

Family Benefit: The application will be deemed invalid if another family member already possesses a gas connection.
