Good news for train passengers. Especially there is good news for those traveling on unreserved tickets by trains. Passengers won’t have to stand in line at the ticket window anymore. Railway staff will come directly to you, ask for your destination, and print your ticket on the spot. This will save a lot of time for everyone. Indian Railways has successfully tested this new service and plans to roll it out at more stations soon. They’re deploying mobile ticket booking clerks for this purpose.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Jhansi Division of North Central Railway, a trial run of the “Mobile UTS” (Mobile Unreserved Ticketing System) was successfully conducted at Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi station. This modern tech aims to make ticketing quicker and more convenient for passengers.

With “Mobile UTS,” railway staff will use a mobile device to print tickets right after asking for your destination, whether you’re in the waiting hall or on the platform. Ticket clerks will be moving around to provide unreserved tickets as needed.

This system will be especially useful during large events like the Maha Kumbh

The goal is to reduce the crowds at ticket counters and save time during major events like the Maha Kumbh. Passengers will find it much easier to get unreserved tickets without the long wait. This is a significant step towards managing station crowds and enhancing the overall passenger experience.

This service will be available soon at these stations

The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager has mentioned that, in preparation for the upcoming Maha Kumbh, this service will soon be implemented at key stations in the Jhansi division, including Jhansi, Gwalior, Lalitpur, Orai, Chitrakoot Dham, Karvi, Mahoba, Banda, Shivrampur, and Bharatkup. Indian Railways is embracing new technologies with this initiative.
