The state government has launched a great scheme to help the common man. To recover dues from defaulters, the Yogi Government has launched a one-time settlement scheme (OTS) starting from December 15. In this regard, 135 camps will be set up at various electricity sub-stations, executive engineer, chief engineer, and main engineer offices in the capital city of Lucknow. 

 

The camps will offer discounts in three phases. In the first phase, registration can be done from December 15 to 31. Moreover, if the entire outstanding amount is paid in one go, a 100 percent surcharge will also be waived.

 

OTS scheme

Officials said that in the first phase, registration will be done from December 15 to 31. In the second phase, from January 1 to 15 and in the third phase, from January 16 to 31, the benefit of the one-time settlement scheme (OTS) can be taken. There are five ways in which consumers can register for exemption on a surcharge. These include domestic commercial companies, private institutions, industries and defaulters of private tube wells. Consumers can avail OTS by registering at the uppcl.org.in.

 

100% waiver in surcharge on lump sum deposit

 

The consumer will get a 100 percent discount on surcharge on depositing the dues in a lump sum. At the same time, Director Yogesh Kumar said that if the defaulters do not take advantage by registering in OTS, then the process of deducting their connection dues will be expedited. Yogesh Kumar, director of Vanijya Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, said that the defaulters can take advantage of the scheme from today i.e. December 15.

 

As many as 135 camps have been set up in the capital and 413 in Madhyanchal. As long as the consumers keep coming to the camp, the offices will remain open and will be able to take advantage of the scheme.
