Formation of the 8th Pay Commission

A new Pay Commission is constituted every ten years and now the time for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission is near. According to the information, the government can announce the formation of the 8th Pay Commission in the budget of 2025.

Government employees may see a significant increase in salary

With the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, government employees may see a significant increase in both the minimum and maximum salaries. The minimum pay can increase from ₹18,000 to ₹34,560 which will be an increase of about 52%. Pensioners will also benefit from the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. Under the new pay structure, the existing minimum pension may increase from Rs 9,000 to Rs 17,280.

Fitment factor is also likely to increase

Apart from this, the fitment factor is also likely to increase, which can lead to a further increase of 15-20% in the salary of employees including allowances. A meeting of the joint consultative body is likely to be held in November to discuss the 8th Pay Commission. In this meeting, the service conditions of the employees will be considered and trade unions will put demands in their favor.
