PM KISAN YOJNA: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one of the major schemes of the Central Government being run for the farmers of the countryUnder this scheme, every four months, crores of farmers are given Rs 6000 annually in 3 equal installments of Rs 2000-2000.

This money is sent directly to the farmers’ accounts through DBT transfer. This benefit is available to those farmers who have land up to 2 hectares and who are citizens of India. Till now farmers have received 16 installment and now the 17th instalment is awaited.

The 17th installment will come in June or July

As per the rules of PM Yojana, the first instalment is released between April to July, the second installment between August to November, and the third instalment between December to March.

At present the code of conduct is in force and voting for the Lok Sabha elections is to be held between May and June, hence there is a possibility that the installment may be released after the formation of the new government after the results are declared on June 4.

However, if some media reports are to be believed, even after obtaining permission from the Election Commission, the Modi government can release the installment at the end of May before June, or the installment will be sent in July. At present no official confirmation has been given regarding the final date.
