Health Insurance Now at Any Age
Earlier, it was difficult for people above 65 to get health insurance. But now there is good news. IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) has changed the rules.
Now, a person of any age can buy a health insurance policy. This is especially beneficial for those elderly people who were not able to get health insurance earlier.
Relief from Courts Too
Now you will not have to go to court for years for pending cases related to pensions. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has given an important decision and said that now the cases related to retirement and pension will be heard daily and settled as soon as possible. This will give a lot of relief to the pensioners.
Refund for Wrong Deductions
The Allahabad High Court has also given relief to the pensioners. The court has ordered that the deduction made from gratuity based on the wrong salary payment should be refunded with 6% interest.
This order has been given based on the decision of the Supreme Court and it has been directed to be implemented within a month.
Gift from Himachal High Court
The Himachal Pradesh High Court has ordered the benefit of a revised pay scale for employees who retired in 2016.
That is, the employees who retired between 2016 and 2022 will also get the benefit of this. Judge Jyotsna Dua has given this important decision.
Relief from EPFO
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has also given relief to PF account holders. Now, account holders can withdraw up to ₹ 1 lakh from the account for the treatment of themselves or dependents.
Earlier, this limit was ₹ 50,000, which has been increased to ₹ 1 lakh. This change has come into effect on April 16, 2024.

This is an important update for the beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). The deadline for creating an ABHA ID has been extended. Now you have to get the ABHA ID/number by September 2024 and link CGHS ID to the ABHA ID/number by October 2024.
