In December, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) launched the Bima Sakhi scheme. This scheme aims to empower rural women by giving them opportunities to work as insurance agents. It will help them earn a livelihood, raise awareness about insurance in rural areas, and create new job opportunities. The goal is to enrol 100,000 Bima Sakhi in the first year, allowing more rural women to join the insurance industry.
The objective of the Scheme
The main goal of the Bima Sakhi Scheme is to offer rural women the chance to become insurance agents under LIC, empowering them financially. It also aims to raise awareness about insurance in rural communities, contributing to financial inclusion.
