No more waiting in long lines for hours! Now, you can get all important Panchayat certificates online from home. Yes, you heard it right! The state government is launching a special mobile app (Panchayat App) to make Panchayat services more digital and convenient.
Why is This App Needed?
People often face difficulties when visiting the Panchayat office to get certificates like income, character, or distance certificates. They have to wait in long queues for hours or make multiple visits because officials are unavailable.
In some places, complaints about extra money being charged have also been reported. To solve these problems, the Panchayat department is launching a special mobile app. With this app, six important certificates will be available with just one click.
How Will This App Work?
Citizens can apply for specific certificates directly through the app on their mobile phones. The certificate will be issued within seven days of submitting the application. Once online transactions are enabled, the chances of illegal money transactions will be eliminated.
An official from the Panchayat department said, “Once this digital platform is launched, corruption will reduce, and people will easily get the certificates they need.”

The state government also plans to add more services in the future.
Panchayat Services Will Be More Digital and Smart
A few days ago, Bengal’s Panchayat Minister Pradeep Majumdar announced from Raina in East Burdwan that all Panchayats in the state will be made smart. New services like online tax payment, guest house or homestay booking, and solid waste management will be introduced.
It is expected that a garbage collection system, similar to municipal areas, will be implemented in Panchayats. An official also mentioned that many people struggle with online applications. To help them, these certificates will also be available at Bangla Sahayata Kendras.
