DA HIKE UPDATE: A very big announcement is going to be made for the central government employees, in which there may be a big increase in dearness allowance (DA) in July 2024.

The central government adjusts DA twice a year. The first adjustment was implemented on January 1, 2024, DA Hike News 2024, and now the second time for DA hike is about to come. This also means that central employees may get an increase in benefits soon.

The government may increase the dearness allowance (DA) by about four to five percent this year due to inflation. If this happens on July 1, 2024, it will mean an overall increase of about 50 to 55 percent in DA.

When will the DA incresed

According to, the increase is planned for July this year, but historically, it may take until September for the new rates to come into effect. In previous years, the government has taken its time on this matter, so they may do the same this time as well.

How munch increment is possible

The Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre may make a big announcement regarding DA for central employees in July 2024. They may increase dearness allowance-dearness relief (DA-DR) by 4%.

Recently, the extra money that employers have given their central employees to help with living expenses is up to 50% of their salary.

The reason behind this is that it was increased by 4 percent to 50 percent earlier this year. According to information from people who keep track of these things, the next time it may change is in July 2024.

How to calculate DA

Employees will have to wait till July 31, 2024, to know how much extra money they will get. Because on July 31, 2024, the exact number of hikes made in the dearness allowance of citizens will be told to the employees.

When the AICPI number comes

The number called AICPI is confirmed at the end of every working day in the current month so that we can calculate the Consumer Price Index for the workers.

Similarly, in January 2024, the CPI number came on February 29.

Then, on March 28, we had got the CPI number for February.

Then, on April 28, we had the CPI number for March.

Now, the CPI number for April will come on May 31.

And then, on June 28, we will get to know the CPI number for May.

All this will be a part of the DA Hike News 2024. Like last time, we will get the CPI number for June on July 31. These numbers help us decide whether there should be a hike in dearness allowance for the next six months or not.

According to experts, the government’s DA hike for July 2024 will be around 4%, to help its citizens cope with the rising cost of living.

The AICPI, or All India Consumer Price Index IW, is yet to release the actual figures for that month. But based on the way prices have risen recently, the government may decide to hike dearness allowance by up to 4%.
