DA HIKE UPDATE: Good news may come once again for the central employees regarding Dearness Allowance (DA) in July 2024. After the formation of the government at the center, the first work was done for the farmers and now it is the turn of the central employees.

Recalling the Previous Increase

Let us tell you that from January 2024, an increase of 4 percent in dearness allowance has been implemented. After which the DA has risen upto 50 percent.

And there is still hope that this time also an update of 4 to 5 percent dearness allowance can be issued to the employees.

After second term new term of the Modi government has introduced and according to the inflation rate, the employees can get the surprise of a good increase this time.

How Much DA with a 5% Increase

If there is a 5 percent increase in dearness allowance this time, then the dearness allowance will increase to 55 percent. Last time with an increase of 4 percent, DA increased from 46 percent to 50 percent.

The government can produce an update in Dearness Allowance to the employees and pensioners from the beginning of the month till September-October. Looking at the past trends so far, the government has announced the dearness allowance of July 1 only till September-October.

4% Increase in January

In January 2024, a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance was approved. Since then employees are getting the benefit of 50 percent DA.

At present, the figures of the AICPI index till April have been released. CPI-IW increased by 0.3 points to 139.2 in February, while in March these figures had come down by 0.3 points to 138.9. After which it has reached 139.4 points.

How much will the salary increase with a 4 percent hike

If there is a 4 percent increase in DA in the July update this year, then there will be a good increase in the salary of central employees. In this, if the basic salary is Rs 50 thousand, then there can be an increase of 2 thousand rupees in dearness allowance.

And if the salary increase is considered to be 3 percent, which can happen based on data. So there will be an increase of Rs 1500 in the salary increase and overall an increase of up to Rs 3500 can be seen in it.

If the basic salary is Rs 18,000, then with an increase of 4 percent, the annual salary will benefit up to Rs 9720.

Changes happen in six months

The central government recalculate the DA twice a year. Changes are made in the dearness allowance based on the data of the AICPI index. For the last two years, a continuous increase of 4% has been seen in the dearness allowance.

Due to the continuous increase in inflation, the figures of the AICPI index are also increasing rapidly. The employees of the central and state governments are getting direct benefits from this.
