- SC / ST and Women: Eligible for a subsidy of up to Rs. 6.60 lakh.
- OBC and General Category: Eligible for a subsidy of up to Rs. 4.40 lakh.
- For a 2-hectare pond, the subsidy amount will be doubled.
Which Fish Species Can Be Raised?
With the subsidy from the government, fish farmers can raise Indian carp species like Katla, Rohu, Mrigal, as well as Tiger Shrimp and Crayfish. By farming these species, fish farmers can earn up to Rs. 1-2 lakh annually.
