Heavy Rain Alert: Delhi will likely receive heavy rains on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an ‘orange’ alert until July 3.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for the north-eastern states of the country, including Arunachal Pradesh, while an ‘orange alert’ has been issued for parts of Himachal Pradesh for July 1 and 2, with light to moderate rain predicted on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued on Monday, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain in many places along with thunderstorms at isolated places with strong winds during the next 3 hours.

These places, the IMD said, include Punjab and adjoining Himachal Pradesh, southwest and adjoining northwest Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining north Chhattisgarh, southeast Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, south Gujarat, south Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, south Karnataka, north Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya.

The forecast for Uttarakhand from Monday to July 3 said, Thunderstorms/heavy to hefty rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand.
