Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a government initiative to provide financial help to women, especially those from poor families. The scheme will soon be launched in Delhi, with the first installment set to be released on March 8, Women’s Day. The Delhi government is making preparations, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has held a meeting to finalize the terms and conditions of the scheme.
Documents Required for Registration
To benefit from the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, women must submit certain documents during the registration process. These are needed to verify eligibility and ensure the scheme reaches those who need it most.
1. Aadhaar Card
Most government schemes require an Aadhaar card, and Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is no exception. It will be needed for identity verification.
2. Bank Account
Since this scheme provides direct financial assistance, women must have a bank account to receive the ₹2,500 monthly payment. If you don’t have a bank account, you must open one and link it to your Aadhaar card for smooth transactions.
3. Income Certificate
As the scheme aims to help women from poor families, an income certificate may be required to confirm eligibility. This document will verify the family’s financial status and help determine if they qualify for the scheme.

4. Ration Card
A ration card may also be required to verify eligibility. It confirms that the applicant belongs to a low-income family.
Who Will Be Excluded from the Scheme?
Income taxpayers, government employees (both permanent and temporary), and women receiving other pensions will likely be excluded from the scheme. The government plans to target women who are financially struggling and not receiving other forms of assistance.
The scheme is primarily for economically disadvantaged women. While the specific income limit is still being discussed, in BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, the annual family income limit has been set at ₹2.5 lakh. Women in government jobs, those who pay income tax, or those receiving other pensions will likely not be eligible for this scheme.
