How to make Mango Pulao

You don’t need many things to make mango pulao. With just a few basic ingredients and a little time, you can prepare a great dish.

Cooked rice –  2 cups

Raw mango (grated) –  1 cup

Peanuts (roasted and coarsely ground)-   1/4 cup

Mustard seeds-   1/2 tsp

Urad dal –  1/2 tsp

Chana dal –  1/2 tsp

Curry leaves a few leaves

Green chillies-  (finely chopped) 1-2

Turmeric powder –  1/4 tsp

Sugar – 1 tbsp (to taste)

Salt to taste

Oil – 2 tbsp

Coriander leaves (chopped) for garnishing

Method of Preparation 

Tadka Lagayen: First of all heat oil in a pan. Then, add mustard seeds, urad dal, and chana dal and crackle them. After this, add curry leaves and green chillies and fry for a few seconds.

Add turmeric and mango : Now add turmeric powder and stir and then add grated raw mango. Fry for 2-3 minutes until the mango becomes soft.

Add spices : Add sugar and salt to the roasted mango as per taste and mix well.

Add rice and mix well : Finally, add cooked rice to the pan and mix everything well on low flame.

Serve garnished : Your delicious mango pulao is ready! Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with curd or raita.

Tips:

You can increase or decrease the amount of mango as per your choice.

If you like it more spicy, you can add a dried red chilli to the tempering.

You can make this dish even more delicious by adding chopped cashews or raisins.
