FASTag Traffic Challan: To increase road safety, the government has been changing the rules from time to time. To prevent road accidents and strengthen road safety laws, traffic rules have been changed once again. In view of the increasing road accidents and violation of traffic rules on the highway, a new traffic management system is being implemented. The new rule will come into effect from July 1. After which the challan will be deducted directly from your Fastag.

 

Challan will be deducted from Fastag

Karnataka has decided to start Intelligent Traffic Management System. Under this, Bengaluru-Mysore road network will be equipped with cameras. The challan amount will be recovered immediately from those who violate the speed limit on Bengaluru Expressway. Challan will be deducted from Fastag of those who break traffic rules. For this, efforts are also being made to connect the toll gate to the Intelligent Traffic Management System.

 

Preparations to integrate challan system with Fastag

After getting the approval of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, fines for all these traffic violations can be deducted directly from the Fastag wallet. According to the report, the traffic and road safety wing is trying to integrate the challan system with Fastag at the toll gates on the highway. By doing this, the fine will be deducted directly from the Fastag wallet. The state government has decided to install signboards, blinkers, 800 alcometers and 155 laser speed guns for monitoring drunk drivers in safety improvements.

 

Real Time SMS

Not only this, soon SMS alerts will be sent in real time to those who break traffic rules. The government is emphasizing on increasing the number of cameras to monitor traffic. At the same time, smooth enforcement of traffic rules by newly installed ANPR cameras will start from July 1. Alok Kumar, ADGP of Traffic and Road Safety, said that from July 1, the entire Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway will be connected to the new smart traffic rules i.e. Intelligent Traffic Management System.

The smart traffic system was launched in Bengaluru in December 2022 itself. Under ITMS technology, the traffic police has installed 250 automatic number plate recognition cameras, 80 red light rules detection cameras at 50 major junctions. Now from July 1, challan will start being deducted directly to those who break traffic rules in Mysore.
