Rule Changed : From April 1 last year, it was made mandatory to provide PAN and Aadhaar details to invest in post office schemes. Now the Postal Department will again verify the authenticity of the investor’s PAN by matching it with the data of the Income Tax Department. Its purpose is to ensure that the PAN and Aadhaar of the investment are linked. Apart from this, whether the name and date of birth details given by the investor for the scheme of the Postal Department are correct or not. If any discrepancy is found, investors will not be able to invest in these schemes. PAN, Aadhaar are mandatory for PPF, NSC and other small savings schemes.

So many PAN cards became inactive

According to the data, last year i.e. in the year 2023, about 12 crore PAN cards were deactivated due to not being linked to Aadhaar card. If your PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar, then you will not be able to do any work related to the bank, because PAN card is required for almost all the work of the bank. Inactive PAN will not be valid for tax related work. Due to this, pending tax dues and interest on it will not be released. If PAN is not linked to Aadhaar, then TDS will be deducted at double the applicable rate while making transactions.

Last chance for investors

If you have not yet linked your PAN card to Aadhaar, then get it done quickly. According to the Income Tax Department, no action will be taken for less deduction of TDS if PAN is linked with Aadhaar by May 31. According to the Income Tax rules, the taxpayer has to link his PAN with his Aadhaar number.

These rules will change from tomorrow

Getting a driving license will be easy: New transport rules are coming into force from June 1. From the new month, it will not be mandatory to give the test in the RTO to get a driving license. In such a situation, the process of passing the driving license test is expected to be easy. From June 1, you can also give driving tests in private institutions recognized by the government. Now less paperwork will have to be done to get the license. You will have to give only those documents, which will be told according to the type of your license. The transport department will tell you in advance which documents you need.

Traffic rules will be strict

There will also be a fine for violating traffic rules, which includes Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 for speeding, Rs 500 for driving without a license, Rs 100 for not wearing a helmet and Rs 100 for not wearing a seat belt.
