Under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the government has set a target of installing solar panels in one crore houses in the country and so far more than 1 crore applications have been received. Along with 300 units of free electricity, this scheme also has many other benefits, which are making it increasingly popular. Actually, under this government scheme, people are also being given a huge discount in the cost of installing solar panels on their homes. According to the capacity of the solar panel, the government is giving a discount of Rs 18000 to Rs 78000.

Under this free electricity scheme of the central government, the government gives a subsidy of Rs 18,000 on the total cost of installing a solar panel up to one kilowatt, while the government subsidy on the total cost for solar panels up to two kilowatts is Rs 30 thousand. Apart from this, if you install a solar panel of three kilowatts or more on the roof according to the area of your house, then the amount of subsidy you get increases to Rs 78,000. More than 5 lakh applications have been received from Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

How can you register?

If you want to apply online, then you can visit the official website https//pmsuryaghar.gov.in. You can register with all your information. Apart from this, if you want to register offline, then you can go to the nearest post office and register. The process of applying online for this is very easy.

Process of applying for subsidy

First of all you have to register on the portal, for which choose your state and electricity distribution company. After this you have to enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email.

After thi login with consumer number and mobile number and apply for rooftop solar as per the form.

In the next step, when you get feasibility approval, get the plant installed from any registered vendor.

On completion of installation, submit the details of the plant and apply for net meter.

Now after your net meter is installed and verification by the discom, the commissioning certificate will be generated from the portal.

Finally, when you get the commissioning report, submit the bank account details and canceled cheque through the portal. You will get the subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
