PM Kusum Yojana :Under PM Kusum Yojana, now even small farmers will be able to irrigate their fields by installing solar pumps on subsidy. Those with three to five HP solar pumps will also get a subsidy.

In fact, till now, under Prime Minister Kisan Urja Suraksha and UT than Maha abhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, the subsidy was given to 7.5 and 10 HP people for installing solar pumps for irrigation. Now this has been changed.

Giving information about the changes made, Agriculture Officer Monica said that due to less land, grants will also be given to those installing 3 and 5-HP solar. In this, a 60 percent grant of the cost will be given. Farmers will have to spend 40 percent.

A farmer will get a maximum grant of up to Rs 2.38 lakh for installing a solar pump. So far 6487 solar pumps have been installed in the district under PM Kusum Yojana. Apart from the grant, farmers belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will also get assistance of Rs 45 thousand from the state head.

How much subsidy on how many HP

Giving information, Monica said that the cost of a 3 HP motor is Rs 2.15 lakh and the farmer will get a subsidy of Rs 1.14 lakh, the cost of a 5 HP motor is Rs 3.05 lakh, and the farmer will get a subsidy of Rs 1.76 lakh and the farmer will get a subsidy of Rs 1.76 lakh. But the farmer will get a cost of Rs 4.53 lakh and a grant of Rs 2.38 lakh.

Up to 60 percent grant will be available

He said that till now 7.5 and 10 HP motors were available only to big farmers. But now the target of 2 thousand solar pumps has been achieved. In this scheme, farmers who do not have agricultural electricity connections for irrigation and are dependent on diesel-powered plants or other alternative means for irrigation.

The government will provide them with solar energy pump plants for irrigation on subsidy. After the grant, farmers are required to use drip, mini sprinkler, micro sprinkler, and sprinkler plants for irrigation of agricultural and horticultural crops. After application, a 60 percent subsidy will be given to General and OBC category farmers under the scheme.

Agriculture Officer Monica said that applications for solar pump grants under PM Kusum Yojana have started. For this, it is necessary to have a Jan Aadhar card, copy of land jamabandi or passbook (land ownership), online self-declared certificate of irrigation water source, and sworn online self-declared certificate of not having electricity connection.

OBC and the General category are required to have a minimum land ownership of 0.4. ST farmers are required to have a minimum land ownership of 0.2 hectares for pump sets of 3 and 5 HP capacity.
