RX 100 Return: Remember the superhit bike of the nineties, Yamaha RX 100. This bike was liked all over the country for its amazing performance and great pickup.
Some time ago, there were reports of RX 100 being launched again in India. But now it seems that its launch is not so easy.
What are the problems in bringing this bike back, let’s know from the words of Yamaha Motor India President Ishin Chihana.
Challenges in RX 100’s Return
There are many obstacles in the way of RX 100’s return. Let’s know about them in detail:
Difficult to Replicate the Old Thump: The identity of RX 100 was its dhak-dhak, that special “ring-ding-ding” sound. But this is the biggest challenge.
Actually, this bike used to come with a 2-stroke engine, which was discontinued due to pollution. Now most bikes come with 4-stroke engines which are environmentally friendly, but they cannot produce the old “ring-ding-ding” sound.
Difficult to Maintain Lightweight: RX 100 can be brought in the old style, but it is difficult to keep the weight as low as it used to be earlier.
According to Ishin Chihana, 100 cc bikes will not be able to give good performance. For strong performance, at least a 200 cc engine will have to be installed. Due to which the weight will automatically increase.
Launch after 2026: Earlier it was reported that this bike could be launched soon. But now it is believed that it can be launched only after 2026. However, considering the difficulties in making it, it seems that it may take 3-4 years more to come in the market.
