Subsidy for Greenhouse Farming: To boost farmers’ income and introduce them to modern agricultural techniques, the Rajasthan government has launched the ‘Green House Scheme.’ This scheme provides financial assistance to farmers for building greenhouses, enabling climate-controlled farming. Through this initiative, farmers can grow vegetables, flowers, and fruits using advanced methods and significantly increase their income.

Under this scheme, the state government offers a subsidy of up to 50% for general category farmers and up to 70% for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers. Additionally, farmers from notified tribal areas and small or marginal farmers will receive an extra 25% subsidy. Let’s take a closer look at the details of this government scheme.

What is the Green House Scheme?

The main objective of the Greenhouse Scheme is to encourage advanced agricultural production using climate-adapted techniques. This scheme helps farmers shift from traditional farming to scientific methods. The greenhouse structure controls temperature, humidity, and light, protecting crops from adverse weather conditions and improving their quality.

Who Can Avail of the Benefits of the Scheme?

Farmers with cultivable land and a reliable irrigation source are eligible for this scheme. They must also provide the required documents, including:

  • Land ownership certificate
  • Aadhar card
  • Soil and water test report
  • Quotation from an approved firm
  • Irrigation source certificate

  2. A departmental committee will verify the construction once completed.

Why is This Scheme Important for Farmers?

In a state like Rajasthan, where climate change affects agricultural production, greenhouse farming can be a game-changer for farmers. This scheme will help them grow crops year-round, improve crop quality, and achieve better market prices.
