Cleaning Solution for Gold Jewelry
1. Prepare the Solution
Mix a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent in lukewarm water. Make sure the water is not too hot.
2. Add Ammonia
Add 4 to 5 drops of ammonia liquid solution to the prepared mixture. Place the gold jewellery in the solution and gently rub it with a small, soft brush.
3. Rinse with Water
After rubbing and cleaning for 10-15 minutes, take the jewellery out of the solution and rinse it with lukewarm water.
4. Dry the Jewelry
Use a cotton cloth or paper towel to gently dry the gold jewellery. You will notice that it is clean, and its shine has been restored.
Types of Gold in India
Gold in India is traded mainly in two types: 24K gold and 22K gold.
- 24K Gold: This is the purest form of gold, with a purity of 99.99%. It is very soft and unsuitable for making jewellery.
- 22K Gold: Made with 22 parts gold and 2 parts other metals like copper or zinc, it is commonly used for crafting jewellery.
