This decision has been taken by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel and Training), Government of India and an official memorandum in this regard was issued on 27 March 2025 from North Block, New Delhi.

The official memorandum clarifies that the state holiday to be declared on April 14, 2025 should be extended to all ministries and departments, including UPSC, CVC, National Commission for Scheduled Castes/Tribes, National Human Rights Commission, Central Information Commission and other important institutions.

Along with this, all attached and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies, and units related to the Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions have also been directed to observe this holiday.

Apart from this, instructions have been given to make the announcement of this holiday available on the website of PIB, Shastri Bhawan, and DoPT to give wide publicity, so that the correct information about this decision can reach across the country and people can follow it properly.

During this state holiday, schools, colleges, and government offices will remain closed, so that people can remember the life of Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and his social reforms by participating in various events, seminars, and cultural programs.
