Schools Closed: The Modi government at the center has declared a public holiday on April 14 on the birth anniversary of the maker of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has shared a post on the social media platform X and informed about this decision of the central government.

Respect for the sentiments of the nation

Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has written in this post that there will now be a public holiday on the birth anniversary of our revered Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji, the maker of the Constitution, the one who established a new era of equality in society. By taking this decision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a dedicated follower of Baba Saheb, has respected the sentiments of the nation.

In the government order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, it has been confirmed that central government offices including industrial establishments across the country will remain closed on 14 April 2025 on the occasion of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti. The order states that all ministries or departments of the Government of India can bring this decision to everyone’s notice.
