The Government of India has started many schemes to ensure the economic security of farmers, one of the major schemes is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana.

Prime Minister Kisan Pension

This scheme was launched in 2019 and aims to provide financial security to small farmers in old age. Under this scheme, farmers can avail a pension of Rs 3000 every month after the age of 60 years by making a monthly investment of just Rs 55.

Both husband and wife can avail the benefit of this scheme separately and get a total pension of Rs 6,000 per month.

Prime Minister Kisan Maandhan Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana is a government initiative that provides financial security to small and marginal farmers in old age. Farmers between 18 to 40 years of age can apply for this scheme.

Depending on age, farmers have to make a monthly contribution of Rs 55 to Rs 200, which gives them a pension of Rs 3000 per month after the age of 60 years.

This contribution depends on the age of the farmer and the maximum annual contribution is Rs 2400 and the minimum contribution is Rs 660.

Eligible For This Scheme

The benefit of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana is available to those farmers who have cultivable land in their name.

Both rural and urban farmers can avail the benefits of this scheme, but existing and retired officers of state and central government, PSUs, and government institutions do not get the benefit of this scheme.

Additionally, farmers paying income tax and individuals receiving monthly pensions of more than Rs 10,000 are also not eligible for this scheme.

If the depositor exits in less than 10 years under the scheme, he is paid the amount as per the interest rate of the savings account along with the deposited amount.

If the depositor exits the scheme after more than 10 years but has not completed 60 years of age, the interest deposited in the pension fund or the savings account interest, whichever is higher, is paid.

4. Link the application form with an Aadhar card.
