Anupamaa’s success in maintaining its place in the top charts since its debut on TV is an example in itself. The show is extremely popular for its emotional and serious storyline. Recently, in an interesting podcast, the stars of the show Sudarshan Pandey, Nidhi Shah and Paras Kalnawat revealed their experience of leaving the show and the challenges they faced during this time. Let’s know the highlights of this interview and how the journey of ‘Anupamaa’ was special for these actors.

Decision to leave Anupamaa show, Sudarshan Pandey’s experience

Sudarshan Pandey said, “It had been four years and this was the first daily soap of my life. I have worked in more than 50 feature films and OTT. There was nothing new left for me in the show now, so it felt better to leave.”

He said that as an actor he gave his best contribution to the show, but there was nothing new that could keep him tied to the show. In his words, he decided to make a new beginning so that he could do something more challenging in his career.

Nidhi Shah: Issues of scenes being cut and daily fights

Sharing her experience, Nidhi Shah said that there were many ‘trigger points’ on the set. “Our scenes had become boring, there were fights every day. There were a lot of arguments on the set too and this made me feel that it was not possible to do this scene anymore,” Nidhi said.

She also told how after many fights, she wanted to talk and resolve the matter, but it was not possible. Nidhi also mentioned about her scenes being cut with her co-star Paras Kalnawat. She said that there were arguments over costumes and hairstyles, and sometimes she felt that she did not get the right outfit for certain occasions.

Paras Kalnawat’s experience: Reasons behind leaving the show

Paras opened up about his exit. He said, “I was the first actor to leave the show, that too suddenly. I myself did not know whether I wanted to leave or I was asked to leave.” Paras also revealed that he wanted to increase his scene space, but his screen space was limited.

Paras said that he felt his work was being suppressed, and that is why he decided to quit the show. He also hinted that there were some personal issues on the show, which made his journey even more difficult.

Was it a reference to Rupali Ganguly?

In the podcast, Bakhtiar and Ali asked if an actor has the power to get his co-actors’ tracks cut? To this, Paras replied, “Who will not listen to an actor from a number one show. If someone says I don’t like shooting with this person, won’t his wish be fulfilled?” Though Paras didn’t name anyone, his statement gives a clear indication.

The revelations of these three actors show how personal and professional challenges are intertwined in the television industry. For an actor, working in a show where there is an atmosphere of conflict and competition can be extremely challenging.

Sudarshan Pandey, Nidhi Shah and Paras Kalnawat chose a new path and the reason behind this decision is their experiences, their personal discomforts and their determination towards their career.

It is not easy for any actor to stay in the television industry for a long time. The popularity and success of the show is one thing, but satisfaction and new opportunities are equally important for the actor. This decision of these stars of ‘Anupamaa’ shows how there is a deep personal story behind every project in an actor’s life.
