Rajesh Khanna, whom we fondly called ‘Kaka’, was the first superstar of Hindi cinema. He ruled millions of hearts with his acting. But in 2012, at 69, he said goodbye to this world. His alleged girlfriend, Anita Advani, recently told some things about his last days in an interview, which made everyone emotional.
The last days were full of loneliness and sadness:
Anita Advanisaidd said that Rajesh Khanna’s last days were tough. His health was continuously deteriorating, and he was often surrounded by loneliness and sadness. According to Anita, “He used to cry all day as if he was inviting his death.” Anita also said that she often explained things to Rajesh Khanna so that his spirits remained high.
Wanted to make ‘Aashirwad’ a museum:
Rajesh Khanna had a dream; he wanted to make his famous bungalow ‘Aashirwad’ a museum. Anita said, “When his health was bad, he got an offer of Rs 150 crore for this bungalow, but he refused. He used to say, I want to make it a museum that will stand for 100 years.” But after his death, that bungalow was demolished. Anita says, “When that house was demolished, it was as if I also died with it.”
Family support and last meetings:
Anita also said that on Rajesh KKhanna’se’s last day, his family members started coming to meet him. His wife Dimple Kapadia and daughters Twinkle and Rinke often came to meet him. Anita says, “I was happy he returned to her life.” Rajesh Khanna’s old friend Anju Mahendru also used to come to meet him.
Weakness and memory problems:
Doctors had already told that Rajesh Khanna’s health was deteriorating rapidly. “He had become very weak, he, the hallucinations and often had trouble understanding things,” Anita said.
