Story of the film
The story of “Baby John” revolves around Varun Dhawan’s character ‘Baby John’. Baby John is living a happy life with his daughter Khushi, when suddenly everything changes with a phone call. The policeman calls him by the name ‘Satya’ and with this the story goes into flashback.
Six years ago, Satya Verma was an honest and brave IPS officer. The twist in the story comes when a minor girl is raped and murdered. This incident changes Satya’s life, and the story after this revolves around revenge and justice.
Film Review
The film starts with a fun father-daughter moment, but as the story progresses, it gets a great tadka of action and emotions. Varun Dhawan has played a double role in the film and has left a mark with his performance in every scene.
Especially, his action sequences are so powerful that whistles start ringing in the theater. The action designed by Sanil Rodrigues is superb. Thaman S’s background music also adds life to the story. Music with every action scene increases the thrill of the film.
The second half of the film is full of Rajpal Yadav’s comedy. His dialogue delivery and timing make the audience laugh. At the same time, Jackie Shroff has left his mark in the role of the villain. Jackie’s character maintains a strong hold throughout the story and keeps the audience hooked till the end.
Vamika Gabbi has played the role of Khushi’s teacher ‘Tara’ well, but her character does not leave much impact in the story. Keerthy Suresh, who is making her Bollywood debut with the film, has won hearts in the role of Satya’s wife and doctor. Her simplicity and performance add emotional depth to the story.
The songs of the film do not impress the audience much. The music is weak and the songs seem to be a hindrance to the story. If more effort was put into the songs, the experience of this film would have been even better.
