Pushpa 2′ Review: ‘Pushpa 2′ combines South cinema star Allu Arjun’s performance and powerful action scenes. Arjun’s brilliant performance and the depth of his character have taken the film to new heights. Especially when he expresses or reacts without speaking; every expression and body language on his face seems completely honest. This is why many of his close-up shots are seen in the film.
Allu Arjun’s powerful performance
Allu Arjun has proved with every aspect of his acting why he is called a “mass hero”. His body language, swag and tremendous action scenes are the film’s main attraction. Especially the “Jatra” sequence and powerful dialogues keep the audience glued to their seats. Arjun has played every emotional and action scene with complete seriousness, due to which the audience connects with his character.
Rashmika Mand anna’s performance and limitations of the role
In the film, Rashmika Mandanna not only gets a chance to show her beauty but also her acting prowess in some scenes. However, in the first half, her character has been kept only to increase the stardom of the hero, which is irritating in some places. Her dance moves in the songs are too glamorous and “sexualized”, an old formulaic problem of Tollywood films.
Fahad Fazil’s performance is the soul of ‘Pushpa 2’. However, the film’s script did not develop his character correctly, which is a significant loss. His presence brought depth to the film, but his character needed to be given the right space.
The film’s supporting cast has also done a great job. However, not using a strong actor like Saurabh Sachdeva properly is a shortcoming of the film. Still, all the other actors did justice to their characters.
The Hindi dubbing of the film disappointed in many places. The lip-sync needed to be corrected in many places, and the songs also lost their originality. The lyrics of the Hindi songs are so ineffective that you are forced to grind your teeth on some lines.
Climax and preparation for ‘Pushpa 3’
The second half of the film dragged in preparation for ‘Pushpa 3’ and seemed dull in some places. Director Sukumar’s craving for the sequel is taking a toll on the film.
Should ‘Pushpa 2’ be watched?
If you are a fan of South cinema and mass entertainer films, then ‘Pushpa 2’ is perfect for you. Allu Arjun’s performance, intense dialogues, and stylish action scenes are the film’s soul. However, the weak script and some issues of Hindi dubbing make its experience dull. Still, this film is worth watching on the big screen.
‘Pushpa 2’ is a celebration of mass entertainment. If the story had been stronger, this film could have set a new precedent in the history of cinema.
