These batteries have greater energy density, meaning longer battery life even in a smaller frame. Furthermore, the new processors are not only more efficient but also more powerful, so a smaller phone wouldn’t lose too much capability.

Software advancements in photography also imply that despite smaller camera modules, computational photography may still improve image quality. Today’s smartphones use a lot of AI and image processing, which might be able to counterbalance the hardware constraints of a mini-phone.
