Lava Shark: Lava has released its new budget smartphone, Lava Shark, which takes the design cues of the iPhone 16 Pro. The phone, available for under ₹7,000, brings a set of impressive features rare in its class.
Price and Availability
The Lava Shark comes with a single option of 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage for ₹6,999. Customers have the choice of purchasing it in Titanium Gold and Stealth Black colors. The phone will be available across retail stores of Lava nationwide from this week.
Display and Design
With a 6.67-inch HD+ punch-hole screen that has a 120Hz refresh rate, the Lava Shark offers smooth visuals and a snappy touchscreen experience. It has a design very much alike the iPhone 16 Pro, which provides a premium feel and look. The phone also has an IP54 rating, giving protection from dust and water splashes.
Performance
Under the hood, the Lava Shark is driven by the UNISOC T606 octa-core processor. It is supported by 4GB of physical RAM, which is further backed by another 4GB of virtual RAM to support multitasking. The 64GB of internal storage can be expanded to 256GB using a microSD card to support plenty of apps and media files.
Camera
The phone has a 50MP AI-powered rear camera system to take high-resolution and colorful pictures. For selfie and video calling, an 8MP front camera is available. The camera system has multiple modes like AI mode, Portrait, Pro mode, and HDR to support different photography requirements.
Battery and Charging
With a 5,000mAh battery on board, the Lava Shark features 18W fast charging through a USB Type-C port. As per the company, the phone is fully charged in about 158 minutes and has up to 45 hours of talk time, 376 hours of standby, and 550 minutes of YouTube video playback.

Running on Android 14, Lava Shark offers dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader and facial recognition for easy unlocking.
