Redmi K80 Pro vs Poco F7 Ultra:Under Xiaomi, the Poco F7 Ultra and Redmi K80 Pro are basically brothers. But as is usual with Xiaomi’s approach, their pricing varies by market and they are aimed at slightly different audiences.
You would question whether there is any actual distinction between these two phones other than the logos that are imprinted on their backs because they seem so similar on paper. But the little variations might add up when you look closely. Let us dissect it.
Create and Design
You will not notice much of a difference when you hold either phone. Both phones weigh about 212 grams and have the same measurements (160.3 x 75 x 8.4 mm); the K80 Pro weighs slightly more, at 217 grams, depending on configuration. Because of their metal frames, the front and rear glass panels remain in sync. Also, the phones can survive in water up to 2.5 meters deep for 30 minutes because they are IP68 water and dust proof.
But where the two diverge is in the glass protection. Longjing Glass 2 is used by the Redmi K80 Pro, whilst Poco Shield Glass is used by the Poco F7 Ultra. Although both are made to withstand scratches and cracks on paper, we are unable to determine which provides superior protection in this particular situation.
Display
You are basically staring at the same panel in the display department. Both phones have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and capability for 68 billion colors. A dazzling 3200 nits is the peak brightness, more than adequate to maintain visibility even in direct sunshine.
The resolution, which is 1440 x 3200 pixels with a crisp 526 ppi pixel density, is also flagship-grade. Under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, which are faster and more dependable than optical sensors, are used in both phones.
Therefore, there is not a clear victor if display quality is your primary consideration. Both phones perform similarly.
Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset from Qualcomm, which was developed using a 3nm process, powers both phones. The Adreno 830 GPU handles graphics, while the CPU configuration remains the same: two Cortex Oryon V2 Phoenix L processors running at 4.32 GHz and six Oryon V2 Phoenix M processors running at 3.53 GHz.
Both phones come pre-installed with HyperOS 2 on top of Android 15. This chipset has more power than the majority of users will require in practical applications. There will not be much latency or stutter whether you are gaming, multitasking, or editing movies.
There are minor variations in the memory configurations of the phones. The top-tier Poco F7 Ultra variant has 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the base model has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The storage is UFS 4.1, and the memory is LPDDR5X.
The Redmi K80 Pro similarly features a base setup of 12/256GB, but the most expensive variant includes 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. It is important to note that it uses UFS 4.0, which is a bit slower than Poco’s UFS 4.1.
For daily tasks, the difference between UFS 4.0 and 4.1 is insignificant in reality. However, the K80 Pro offers a distinct advantage if you require a 1TB choice or are picky about the fastest storage.
Cameras
Both phones have the same rear camera configuration:
50MP primary camera with 1/1.55″ sensor, f/1.6, and OIS
50MP telephoto with OIS and a 2.5x optical zoom
120° field of view, 32MP ultrawide
Both phones enable improved stabilization and high frame rate modes, such as 4K at 60 frames per second and even slow-motion at 1920 frames per second in 720p. They can even capture up to 8K at 24 frames per second.
The front camera is where the difference is visible. The Redmi K80 Pro has a 20MP selfie camera, whilst the Poco F7 Ultra has a 32MP camera. You might not notice much of a difference in well-lit environments, but Poco’s higher resolution sensor has the advantage, at least in theory, for people who use front cameras frequently, whether for social media, video discussions, or content creation.
But the F7 Ultra’s spec sheet lacks the K80 Pro’s ability to use gyro-EIS on the front camera for smoother videos.
Battery and Other Things
There are differences between these phones in terms of battery capacity. The Redmi K80 Pro has a larger 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery, whilst the Poco F7 Ultra has a 5300mAh battery. 50W wireless charging and 120W wired charging are supported by both phones.
Both devices include stereo speakers, but they do not accept headphone jacks. Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and an infrared blaster are among the connectivity possibilities. With support for NavIC, GPS (L1+L5), GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, and QZSS, the positioning systems are also the same.
Both also share a complete set of sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and proximity) and an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Which Should You Purchase, Then?
As you can see, the two phones are remarkably same. The Redmi K80 Pro has several significant advantages over the Poco, including a large 6,000mAh battery for extended use and up to 1TB of storage. However, the selfie camera on the F7 Ultra has a greater resolution.
Although these variations are small, users may find pricing to be a key determining factor. Thankfully, the Redmi K80 Pro is more affordable than the Poco F7 Ultra, starting at ₹44,990. While the Poco F7 Ultra costs $649 (around Rs. 55,000) for the same combination, the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage model starts at $599 (around Rs. 51,000) and $649 (about Rs. 55,000). If you want to purchase the K80 Pro for that amount,
