Smokey eyes are in high season during the party season. Here’s how to do extravagant eye makeup in style! You can go a little deeper into the make-up pot for an exciting party make-up. Particularly popular: Smokey eyes, which Nefertiti supposedly used to create beguiling looks in ancient Egypt. The dark, smoky eye makeup is considered to be particularly expressive, dramatic, and seductive. With a few tricks and the right equipment, you can also achieve Smokey eyes in your beauty salon – without the dreaded panda eyes look!
In addition to the right technique, the equipment is crucial for the dramatic eye makeup to be successful and long-lasting. This is what you need to do Smokey Eyes:
- Eyeshadow palette
- Eyeshadow brush
- black mascara
- black eyeliner
All smoky tones are suitable: from anthracite to taupe, or mauve, grey or silver, to chocolate and brown tones. The really brave even dared to try smoky eyes in blue. But the look is classic with dark anthracite and grey tones!
-
First, cleanse the skin thoroughly and apply cream. Then dab the eyelid with a cosmetic tissue to ensure it is free of grease.
-
Then apply an eyeshadow base. This makes the eyelids more durable for color and at the same time evens out small redness.
-
Now trace the upper and lower lash line with the eyeliner pencil. Blend the line with either a brush or cotton swab.
-
Now the lighter shade of eye shadow comes into play: This is applied to the immobile eyelid up to the outer corner of the eye and on the lower eyelid.
-
Then, apply the medium, smoky eyeshadow shade to the mobile eyelid, the outer corners of the eyes, and the lower lash line. The more dramatic you want the smoky eyes to be, the more intense the color application should be.
-
Now apply the darkest shade to the eyelid and the crease until you achieve the desired wicked effect. It is better to apply eye shadow carefully and sparingly – if your eyes are made up too dark, they will appear closer together.
-
Blend the transitions well with a clean eye shadow brush or cotton swab. Use the lightest shade of the eye shadow palette to create subtle highlights under the highest point of the eyebrows.
-
If you have used matte eyeshadow, you can add a little powder on top at the end – this will fix it.
- Finally, the eyelashes are heavily mascaraed – top, bottom, and, of course, in black!
Optional: To make your eyes shine especially brightly, you can draw a fine line on the lower, inner eyelid with a light eyeliner.
