Know why kidneys are getting damaged

Drinking less water

When we do not drink enough water, the kidneys have to work harder to flush out toxins. This causes toxins to accumulate in the body. This can cause kidney stones and infection.

Eating more salt

Salt contains more sodium, which causes water to accumulate in the body. This increases the volume of blood and makes the blood pressure high. High BP gradually damages the blood vessels of the kidneys and damages them.

Processed food and junk food

Fast food, packaged snacks, packaged juices and sauces contain high amounts of sodium, preservatives and chemicals. This puts additional strain on the kidneys and gradually the kidneys start to deteriorate.

Taking painkillers without doctor’s advice

If you are taking painkillers for a long time, the blood vessels of the kidney start shrinking and the nephrons that filter the kidney’s blood start getting blocked, then the kidney’s working capacity starts decreasing. Blood flow decreases due to the shrinkage of blood vessels. This also increases the risk of kidney failure.

Eating more sweet and sugary things

Eating more sugar increases the blood sugar level in the body. This increases the risk of diabetes. Diabetes is one of the biggest causes of kidney failure.

Taking a high protein diet

Our kidneys filter the toxins formed during the digestion of protein. This means that eating more protein makes the kidneys work harder, their workload increases. If you are taking a high protein diet for a long time, then the risk of kidney damage increases.

Not getting enough sleep daily

The kidney repairs itself while sleeping at night and removes toxins from the body. If you are not getting enough sleep i.e. not sleeping for 7-8 hours, then this process is not completed properly. Therefore, lack of sleep increases the risk of blood pressure and kidney disease.

Cigarette and alcohol consumption

Cigarette and alcohol consumption cause the blood vessels of the kidney to shrink, which reduces blood circulation. Due to this, the kidney starts weakening and is unable to function properly.

Frequently holding urine

If someone holds urine for a long time, the bacteria present in the urine can reach the kidney and cause kidney infection. This can also cause urinary tract infection (UTI). In the long run, this habit can also cause kidney stones and chronic kidney disease (CKD). This can damage the kidney.

Lack of exercise

If you are leading a sedentary lifestyle, that is, sitting in the same position for a long time, then the risk of obesity, high BP and diabetes increases, which can be a major cause of kidney disease and damage.
