Big news is waiting for CBSE 10th and 12th grade students. There is a big update in the upcoming exam schedule. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will allow class 10th and class 12th students studying in recently unaffiliated schools to appear for the 2024-25 board exams from the same school. Such schools have also been allowed to apply for restoration of affiliation up to secondary level after one year in 2026-27, the official order said.
Show cause notices were issued to 27 schools
The CBSE board conducted surprise inspections in schools in Delhi and Rajasthan in September and issued show-cause notices to 27 schools in the region. Such schools were given 30 days to respond. After reviewing the replies submitted by the schools, the board cancelled recognition of 21 schools, a majority of which were from Delhi. Along with this, the board downgraded 6 schools from senior secondary to secondary level.
Action taken due to irregularity
The board found that schools were not keeping records of admission withdrawal, register, admission form, attendance register of students, introduction roll, service book, and leave record. The inspection also revealed that the section-teacher and teacher-student ratio was not as per CBSE norms.
Affiliation of 21 schools has been cancelled due to various reasons, such as the large number of dummy and non-attending students in higher secondary classes, the non-availability of proper records, and the pupil-teacher ratio.
