In 2025, Chaitra Navratri will start on 30 March 2025. This Pratipada Tithi will begin on March 29 at 04:27 pm and end on March 30 at 12:49 pm. During this time, Kalash Sthapana or Ghata Sthapana is of importance, which is considered to be the beginning of Navratri Puja.

9 Days Puja Calendar of Chaitra Navratri 2025

Nine forms of Maa Durga are worshipped during the nine days of Navratri. Each day a goddess is worshipped, and each goddess’ form contains different types of power and blessings.

Which Puja is performed in Chaitra Navratri

Kalash Sthapana: On the first day of Navratri, the puja is started by installing a Kalash. This puja is performed to bring peace and prosperity in the house.

Start the ritual after taking a bath during Brahma Muhurta, and take care of cleanliness and purity.

Take a pot and put soil in it and wet it with water. This soil symbolizes fertility and growth.

Sow barley seeds in the soil, which represent prosperity and growth in the house.

Place an earthen urn on top of the barley. The urn is an important symbol of abundance and divinity.

Fill the urn with Gangajal.

Add betel nut, a coin and flowers to the water in the urn.

Place an earthen bowl on top of the Kalash, filled with akshat (unbroken rice grains).

Install the idol of the Goddess in front of the Kalash.

Perform the Puja according to full Vedic rituals, including chanting mantras, offering flowers, fruits and incense.

Maintain this Puja sequence for all nine days of Navratri, with offerings and prayers every day. The ninth day of Navratri is celebrated as Ram Navami. This day is especially for the worship of Lord Rama, and is considered the conclusion of Navratri.

Kanya Pujan on the last day of Navratri has special significance. On this day, little girls are worshipped as Goddesses and are given food and gifts. It symbolizes the devotion and reverence of the devotees.
