“Scenes of absolute chaos unfolded at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday evening as a massive crowd heading for the Mahakumbh Mela caused a stampede-like situation. Imagine the scene – Platform numbers 14 and 15 were jam-packed, with reports suggesting folks were getting rescued in an unconscious state!

Turns out, a huge number of people, many without confirmed train tickets, had descended upon the station hoping to catch a train to the Mahakumbh. It seems like everyone decided to travel at once! Railway officials mentioned that things are now, thankfully, under control.

Apparently, Railways is running special Kumbh trains to meet the passenger demand. But, it seems like a sudden surge of devotees wanting to travel to Prayagraj caught everyone a bit off guard.

Right now, Railway officials and Delhi Police are on the ground trying to sort things out and figure out how so many people turned up without proper tickets. You know, inquiry wagera toh banta hai (an inquiry is necessary).

Sources chatting with India TV are saying it wasn’t exactly a stampede, but the sheer volume of people led to a scary, suffocating atmosphere. Apparently, this happened around 8:00 PM. Some passengers who needed medical help were even sent off on special trains to get treatment. Must have been quite a worrying situation for everyone involved.”
