Delhi Traffic Advisory: Preparations for Republic Day are in full swing in Delhi’s capital. Its effect has started showing in Delhi-NCR from now onwards. People have to wait for hours due to checking to travel by metro. If you live in Delhi, you should know which roads will remain closed and which roads you must take.

If you plan to leave home with your family on January 26, you should know that a traffic advisory has been issued in Delhi-NCR. The Delhi Police have released a route map.

Some roads will remain closed

The parade rehearsal will follow the same route as the parade on Republic Day. During this time, traffic will be closed entirely on Vijay Chowk, India Gate, Kartavya Path, and many other routes. The route from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will be closed entirely till the parade ends. Also, traffic movement has been banned on Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road on Kartavya Path from 11 pm on January 23. Crossing will be allowed on these routes based on the progress of the parade under the supervision of the traffic police.

Alternative routes to avoid traffic

Delhi Traffic Police has suggested some alternative routes for the citizens.

The north-south route: Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, Sarai Kale Khan, IP Flyover, Rajghat, and Ring Road can be used.

East-West route: You can reach Dhaula Kuan via Bhairon Road, Mathura Road, Lodhi Road, Aurobindo Marg and AIIMS Chowk.

For railway stations

New Delhi Railway Station: Go towards Panchkuiyan Road and Paharganj from South Delhi.

Old Delhi Railway Station: Use Ring Road, Ashram Chowk and SP Mukherjee Marg.

Delhi Police has appealed to the citizens to avoid going on the affected routes on 24 and 26 January if there is no urgent work. Help maintain smooth traffic by taking alternate routes.
