EPFO: The government plans to introduce the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme (ELI Scheme) in the upcoming year 2025 according to the budget announcement. Through this program, the government will offer incentives to employees as well as employers, which can promote the growth of job opportunities.

However, it is essential for those EPF subscribers who will benefit from the scheme to promptly link their Universal Account Number (UAN), Aadhaar, and bank account. Previously, the cutoff for linking Universal Account Number, Aadhaar, and bank account was set for 15 December 2024. the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has now postponed this deadline to 15 January 2025.

EPFO notified Employee Provident Fund members, stating that the deadline for linking Universal Account Number, Aadhaar, and bank account has been extended to 15 January 2025. Now do not hesitate to connect it. To benefit from the social security program, finalize the linking procedure without delay. EPFO has stated that to benefit from the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, individuals who have recently joined or commenced work in the current financial year 2024-25 must verify that their bank account Aadhaar seeding is completed and their Universal Account Number is activated.

Objective of Employment Linked Incentive Scheme

The objective of this program is to generate 2 crore employment opportunities within a span of two years. In this plan, an allocation of Rs 2 lakh crore over 5 years will be utilized to create jobs for 4.1 crore youths and enhance their skills. In this plan, benefits will be provided to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer, and this will occur only if the bank account is connected to Aadhaar.
