The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to announce the notification for the Civil Services Examination 2025 today, January 22. The application process will commence immediately after the notification is published. Candidates interested in taking the UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination can apply by visiting the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

 

The commission may release the notification for the UPSC CSE 2025 preliminary examination at any moment. Last year, a total of 1,056 civil service positions and 150 Indian Forest Service (IFoS) positions were advertised. Currently, interviews for the Civil Services Exam 2024 are ongoing and will conclude in April. Only candidates who have successfully passed the main examination will be eligible for the interview.

 

UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Application Process: Steps to Apply for UPSC CSE 2025

 

1. Go to the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

2. Click on the One Time Registration tab located on the homepage.

3. Register by providing your phone number, email ID, and other details.

4. Complete the application form and upload the necessary documents.

5. Pay the application fee and submit your application.

 

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam for 2025 is scheduled for May 25, 2025, and will take place in a pen-and-paper format at various locations throughout the country. Candidates who succeed in this round will move on to the main exam, which is expected to start on August 22. Those who clear the main exam will then be invited for an interview. Last year, the preliminary exam occurred on May 26, followed by the main exam on September 20.

 

Regarding the number of attempts allowed, candidates from the General category can take the UPSC Civil Services exam up to 6 times. Candidates from the OBC and PWD categories have 9 attempts available. There is no limit on the number of attempts for candidates from the SC and ST categories.
