Kisan Bonus Update

On August 16, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini transferred the first instalment of ₹496 crore as a bonus to 5.80 lakh farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The state government plans to release a total of ₹1,380 crore under this scheme. The third instalment, amounting to ₹580 crore, will be deposited into the accounts of 4.94 lakh farmers via DBT within the next 10 to 15 days. Farmers who registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal will receive this bonus.

Soil Health Card Initiative

In another initiative for the farmers, the Chief Minister started distributing 40 lakh soil health cards through WhatsApp. This step was taken to overcome the problems arising due to delays in the printing of cards. Due to delay in the distribution of cards, farmers were not able to implement the recommendations on time. He said that now, the soil health cards will be sent directly to the farmers’ mobile numbers through WhatsApp as soon as the soil testing results are ‘uploaded’ on the online portal.
