Lakhs of Indian farmers are now happy. After Festive season, now they got ‘Bonus’. Apart from the central government, different schemes are also being run by the state governments to empower the farmers financially. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is the most ambitious scheme of the central government, under which farmers are given 6,000 rupees annually. A similar scheme is also run by every government for the farmers. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini released an installment of Rs 300 crore as a bonus for the farmers of the state on the occasion of ‘Guru Nanak Jayanti’.

Rs 496 crore was transferred as the first installment

The official statement said that money was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 2.62 lakh farmers. CM said that the state government had decided to give a bonus of Rs 2,000 per acre on agricultural and horticultural crops grown in the state due to adverse weather conditions during Kharif-2024, keeping the interest of farmers above.

On August 16, the Chief Minister transferred the bonus amount of Rs 496 crore as the first installment to the accounts of 5.80 lakh farmers through DBT.

Two installments have been released so far as bonuses

CM Nayab Singh Saini said that the bonus money will be given to all such farmers who have registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. A total of Rs 1,380 crore is to be given to the farmers. He said that so far, two installments have been released as bonuses. As the third installment, an amount of Rs 580 crore will be transferred to the bank accounts of the remaining 4.94 lakh farmers in the next 10 to 15 days through DBT.

In yet another initiative for farmers, the chief minister also launched the distribution of 40 lakh “soil health cards” through WhatsApp to address the problem arising due to delay in printing of cards. Due to delay in card distribution, farmers were not able to implement the recommendations on time. He said that now, as soon as the result of the soil test is uploaded on the online portal, soil health cards will be sent directly to the mobile number of farmers through WhatsApp.
