To make it even easier for users, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new version of the mAadhaar App. UIDAI shared this update via a tweet. You can download the app on your smartphone to access 35 Aadhaar-related services.
Uninstall the Old Version
UIDAI recently announced on Twitter that users can now download the latest version of the mAadhaar app to access the new and improved features and services. However, UIDAI also emphasized that the old version should be uninstalled to ensure you can take full advantage of the new updates. With the new version, Aadhaar cardholders can enjoy over 35 services.
Available Services in the New Version
The updated mAadhaar app includes a range of services, such as:
- Downloading Aadhaar
- Offline e-KYC download
- Viewing or scanning the QR code
- Re-printing Aadhaar
- Address updates
- Aadhaar verification
- Email and mail verification
- Receiving UID or EID
- Sending a request for an address validation letter
Change Your Aadhaar Address from Home
Your Aadhaar is a valid address proof. If you’re changing houses or cities, updating your address is essential. While previously you had to visit an Aadhaar centre to make this change, now you can update your Aadhaar address directly from the mAadhaar app (mAadhaar Update), all from the comfort of your home. Here’s how you can do it:
How to Use the mAadhaar App
- Download the mAadhaar app from the Google Play Store. The app is free of charge.
- Once opened, select your preferred language.
- Enter your Aadhaar-registered mobile number and tap on “Next.”
- You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your number. Enter the OTP and tap on “Submit.”
- Click on “Register My Aadhaar.”
- Set up a 4-digit PIN. After confirming the PIN, enter your Aadhaar number.
- A second OTP will be sent to your number. Enter it to complete the process.
Step-by-Step Process to Change Address
- Open the mAadhaar app and go to “Services.”
- Select “Update Address Online.”
- Enter your Aadhaar number and the security captcha. Tap on “Request OTP.”
- You will receive an OTP; enter it and verify.
- You will now be asked for the method to update your address: via Address Proof or via Secret Code.
- Select “via Address Proof.” Fill in your address details.
- Scan and upload your address proof, then click on “Verify.”
